“Prefinished parquet floors are supplied already varnished or oiled, which means they are ready for laying, with important advantages on cost and timing: quick laying means a few hours of labor, as well as a significant reduction in waiting time before furniture can be placed and the floor walked on. The noble layer, i.e., the walkable surface of prefinished parquet, is characterized by different nuances and grain patterns, which vary significantly depending on the type of wood chosen. Usually, 3 layers of flooring are unified in the making of traditional antique prefinished floors with solid antique wood. Our prefinished or antique wood floors predominantly use fine woods such as oak, elm, larch, and fir that have been properly reclaimed, cleaned, and treated. The thickness is often decided according to customer preference, as are the widths and lengths, which can also be irregular in order to give a much more natural look to the floor.
Prefinished floors are then refinished through the use of natural waxes, which make your antique wood floor even more beautiful, durable and easily washable. In any case, in case of damage, scratches or other structural damage to the prefinished, it is always possible to intervene later to restore the parquet. Restoration of the floor can be done by replacing planks or entire portions without the need to sand the entire room; or, if the problem is general deterioration of the protective layer, it is possible to intervene by sanding or brushing and subsequent reprocessing.”
