Once carefully selected, stored in appropriate locations, catalogued, cleaned and treated appropriately, reclaimed lumber from these ancient buildings provides the raw material for making building salvage or new construction whose value is enhanced precisely by virtue of such refined raw materials. Cleaning and salvage work is a prerequisite for ensuring stability and durability of the lumber itself. The processing to which the beams and reclaimed lumber are subjected also includes load tests in order to ensure quality and strength, as well as the level of aesthetic appeal.
